Luca Pisaroni has already established himself as one of the most captivating singers of his generation. Since his debut at the Salzburg Festival with the Vienna Philharmonic under Nikolaus Harnoncourt at the age of 26, Mr. Pisaroni has performed to critical acclaim in opera, concert and recital appearances around the world.
He has worked with conductors such as Nikolaus Harnoncourt, James Levine, Seiji Ozawa, Riccardo Muti, Sir Simon Rattle, Michael Tilson Thomas, Donald Runnicles, William Christie and Mark Minkowski.
Opera appearances include Figaro at the MET and the Salzburg Festival; Guglielmo (Così fan tutte) for Glyndebourne; Leporello (Don Giovanni) at Tanglewood and the Opéra Bastille; Ercole (Ercole Amante), Guglielmo and Figaro with Nederlandse Opera; Leporello and Conte Dorval (Martin y Soler’s Il Burbero di Buon Cuore) at the Teatro Real in Madrid; Tiridate (Radamisto) for Santa Fe Opera; Achilla (Giulio Cesare) for La Monnaie in Brussels; Figaro and Melisso (Alcina) at the Opéra Bastille; Enrico (L’Isola Disabitata) at the Musikverein; Papageno (Die Zauberflöte) at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and Il Re (Ariodante) at the Theater an der Wien.
After a successful summer in Salzburg returning in the title part in Le nozze di Figaro Mr. Pisaroni has begun the 2009/2010 season with Dido and Aeneas with De Nederlandse Opera under William Christie, followed by Figaro at the MET and a recital tour in North America including Carnegie Hall and Ravinia Festival. This season’s concert appearances include Beethoven’s 9th Symphony both with the New World Symphony under the baton of Michael Tilson Thomas and with Jaap van Zweden and the Dallas Symphony in a special concert to celebrate the grand opening of the new AT&T Performing Arts Center, Mozart’s Requiem with Yuri Termikanov for the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis in Paris, Brahms’s Requiem under Edo de Waart and a tour of Händel’s La Resurrezione with Il Giardino Armonico. He will conclude the season singing Leporello in a new production of Don Giovanni at Glyndebourne under Vladimir Jurowsky.
