At 20 years old, violinist Caitlin Tully has emerged as one of the most compelling artists of her generation. She made her debut with the Vancouver Symphony at the age of ten, displaying a musical maturity and inspiration far beyond her years. Upon hearing her Yehudi Menuhin said, “She plays with more integrity than any young violinist I have ever heard.”
Ms. Tully has collaborated with conductors including Kent Nagano, Hans Graf, Pinchas Steinberg, Peter Oundjian, Bramwell Tovey, Peter Bay, Jeffrey Kahane, Daniel Hege, Murry Sidlin and Benjamin Zander. Highlights of Ms. Tully’s 2005/06 season included appearances with the Pittsburgh Symphony, Dallas Symphony, Phoenix Symphony, Edmonton Symphony, Syracuse Symphony, Springfield (OH) Symphony, Boston Philharmonic, and at the opening concert for the Britt Festivals. In 2004/05, she played the opening season concerts for the Santa Rosa Symphony and the annual Gala concert for the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, as well as engagements with the Austin Symphony, Houston Symphony, Louisiana Philharmonic, Louisville Orchestra, San Antonio Symphony, Toronto Symphony, Victoria Symphony of British Columbia and the Orchestre Metropolitain of Montreal, among others. Previous engagements have included the Charlotte Symphony, Knoxville Symphony, Vancouver Symphony, National Arts Centre Orchestra and the Cascade Festival of Music of Oregon.
Ms. Tully has won numerous national and international awards including the National Arts Centre’s New Sun Millennium Award, the Yamaha Horizon Award, CBC’s Westcoast Spotlight Award, the Banff Prize and the Kingsville Director’s Prize. She is currently a student at Princeton University and continues to study with Itzhak Perlman, as well as coaching with Jan Sloman of the Dallas Symphony when at home in Texas.
