La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra debuted on January 25th 1982 conducted by its founder, Claudio Abbado.
In 1987 Riccardo Muti has taken the role of Principal Conductor, bringing a decisive change in the executive and interpretative quality of the Orchestra, underlying its potential values and bringing a basic contribution to the international success the Orchestra has encountered in the last years.
