ADMAF reveals plans for Abu Dhabi Festival 2010

The Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) today revealed details of its most ambitious festival to date - The Abu Dhabi Festival 2010. CHANDOS RELEASES FIRST OPERA ARIAS DISC FOR RENOWN BARITONE GERALD FINLEY

Gerald Finley's first recital disc of operatic arias, recorded for Chandos' Opera in English label, explores a broad range of repertoire, from the great works of the romantic era to more contemporary music, including roles which he himself has created, such as J. Robert Oppenheimer in John Adams's Doctor Atomic and Harry Heegan in Mark- Anthony Turnage's The Silver Tassie. read more

Congratulations to IMG Artists GRAMMY winners: Renée Fleming awarded Best Classical Vocal Performance for her recording 'Verismo Arias' on the Decca label, Emerson String Quartet for their recording 'Intimate Letters' on Deutsche Grammophon, and Evgeny Kissin for his recording of 'Prokofiev Piano Concertos Nos. 2 & 3'. Congratulations also to Laura Claycomb and Anthony Dean Griffey for their participation in 'Mahler Symphony No. 8; Adagio From Symphony No. 10', conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas, which won Best Classical Album as well as Best Choral Performance and finally to Chris Botti, Renée Fleming, Edgar Meyer and Chris Thile for their participation in 'Yo-Yo Ma & Friends: Songs of Joy and Peace', which won Best Classical Cross Over Album. read more
